Day 292

Seventy degrees. Blue skies. What's not to like? For me, the answer is Fall allergies. Somehow the nicest weather of the year and the worst of the allergy season always seem to coincide. By the time I had finished walking the Dalmatian Rescue dogs at K-9 University and taken our own dogs up to the Wagging Tail dog park, my eyes were watering so bad that I could hardly see and my nose was dripping like a faucet. Ironically, Dash's allergies are actually getting better. Maybe I should just start taking a daily dose of antibiotics like he does.

While I was up at K-9 University, I took pictures of Hobbs, our newest rescue dog. Hobbs is only ten months old and still acts like a puppy. He love to play with a ball, but he doesn't know much about walking on a leash yet. He'll take about ten steps forward and then back up and take a flying leap into the air. He's a strong little guy too. After walking him this morning, I felt like I had a dislocated shoulder. Hobbs learns quickly though. I think he'll master the leash in a few more weeks. One of the volunteers actually taught him to sit and stay while we were walking the dogs today.

I wish my trip to Alberta hadn't gotten postponed at the last minute. Now that I'm not going anywhere next week, I have no excuse that will get me out of tomorrow's dental appointment. The trouble with waiting so long between dental checkups is that it is almost inevitable they'll find something wrong. I'm prepared for the worst. If the dentist doesn't find at least one cavity, it will be a miracle.
